Qatar’s Central Bank International Reserves Continues to Grow

The data of Qatar Central Bank showed that the international reserves and liquidity in foreign currency by Qatar Central Bank continue to grow, reaching the level of 204.99 billion riyals together by the end of March 2021.

According to Qatar Central Bank data, the official reserves at Qatar Central Bank increased by the end of March by 0.05 billion riyals to the level of 148.78 billion riyals (40.89 billion dollars). The total international reserves, including liquidity in foreign currency, rose by 0.08 billion riyals, to reach about 204.99 billion riyals (56.34 billion dollars), thus increasing by about 5.3 billion riyals, or 1.8 percent, than it was a year ago at the end of March 2020, when it reached 201.3 billion riyals.

The bank’s balance of bonds and bills rose by 4.37 billion riyals to the level of 86.64 billion riyals, while foreign bank balances decreased by 3.95 billion riyals to 49.01 billion riyals.

The total international reserves at the Central Bank recorded an increase of 3.69 billion riyals, or 1.8 percent to 204.99 billion riyals. The bank’s holdings of gold increased in a year until March 2021 by 3.17 billion riyals, or 39.5%, to 11.18 billion riyals.
