The Somali parliament approved the proposed budget of the Somali government, which is estimated at $ 671.8 million, for the year 2021. That was during a session of members of the Somali People's Assembly in Mogadishu, where 145 deputies out of 275 members of parliament attended the voting session, and the representatives attending the budget voted by an overwhelming majority.

The Somali government approved the draft budget for next 2021, at a session held by the Somali Cabinet on October 30, in Mogadishu, in the presence of members of the new government formation. Noting that this budget of more than half a billion dollars is the largest in the last ten years, as the budget for 2019 was estimated at 400 million dollars, indicating that the size of Somalia's budget is doubling year after year.

The budget allocated $ 322 million to the administrative institutions of the government, and the payment of official sector employees' dues, in addition to allocating $ 163 million to the military (police, army and intelligence). The government has also allocated 109 million dollars to provide basic services to the Somali community, and this budget exceeds what the government allocated for this sector in 2020, which was estimated at 64 million dollars, and this sector includes education and health.
