Khalifa Al Thani: India is an Important Trading Partner of Qatar

The Chairman of the Qatar Chamber, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, pointed out that "India is an important trading partner, as Qatar is the largest supplier of Natural Gas to India," praising the Indian community in Qatar that is present in various Qatari companies at various levels.

He explained that "the volume of trade exchange between the two countries reached $ 10.5 billion last year," stressing that "despite the circumstances imposed by the Corona pandemic, bilateral trade exceeded $ 6.3 billion at the end of the third quarter of this year."

This came during his meeting with the Indian Minister of External Affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, during which they discussed ways to enhance cooperation relations between the Qatari private sector and its Indian counterpart and identify the investment opportunities available in both countries.

For his part, the Indian Minister of External Affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, affirmed his country's desire to strengthen cooperation relations with Qatar, especially in the economic and commercial fields, and the promotion of Qatari investments in India, calling on Qatari businessmen to "invest in various economic sectors in India," referring to India's efforts to combat the spread of the Coronavirus, and the precautionary measures that have been taken as the economic activity is recovering, as the Indian economy is expected to return to growth as of next year.
