Hamad International Airport Ranks 3rd in the World

Hamad International Airport ranked third in the list of the best airports in the world, which included 550 airports, after Changi Airport in Singapore and Haneda Airport in Japan. This is according to the results of the Skytrax World Airports Awards 2020, achieving progress over the past year when it ranked fourth and continued its rise since the beginning of its operations in 2014.

It is noteworthy that Hamad International Airport has achieved success in many other evaluations of the global services it provides, as it ranked third in the transit airport, and in the Passport Department came in the tenth place, with the same degree in the field of baggage delivery, and the fifth in the cleanliness of the airport building, and the seventh in the Comfort and entertainment means, and also ranked first as the best among the world's airports, which provide services to between 30 to 40 million passengers annually.

Hamad International Airport registered a record growth in the number of passengers during the past year, as it provided services to nearly 39 million passengers, and achieved a 4.7% increase in air freight operations during the first quarter of this year compared to the same period last year.

The airport expansion has begun this year, and the first phase of the expansion will increase the capacity to receive more than 53 million passengers annually by 2022, whereas the second stage will increase the airport's capacity to more than 60 million passengers annually.
