Egypt's unemployment rate fell to 8 percent

The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics in Egypt revealed that the unemployment rate reached 8 percent during the fourth quarter of 2019, compared to 8.9 percent a year ago, a decrease of 0.9 percent, and the workforce size reached 28.950 million individuals during the last quarter of 2019.

Egypt is working on many large, labor-intensive national projects, such as the new administrative capital and new cities and roads.

Egypt is preparing for giant industrial projects, the most prominent of which is the auto industry, which provides great job opportunities. In this regard, Nevin Jama, the Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry, disclosed, on the fact that it will present to the Council of Ministers a new strategy for the auto industry in the country, pointing out that it presented the strategy to the Presidency of the Republic, and it is currently under legal review, and it is expected to be completed in order to send it to the Council of Ministers for discussion and approval.
