Qatar ranked 30th globally among the 180 countries in the global Corruption Perceptions Index for 2019, three places ahead of last year. The State of Qatar scored 62 points this year, pushing it to this advanced position after it was ranked 33rd in the world.

Qatar's progress came according to the results of the Global Corruption Perceptions Index issued annually by Transparency International, whose results are announced annually by many countries, investors, and development and human rights organizations worldwide.

The index measures the perceived level of corruption in the public sector, based on 13 data sources, built on expert assessment and business opinions and its outcome depends on a number of sub-indicators issued by prestigious international organizations including the World Bank, the World Economic Forum, IMD, and the Foundation Berlitzmann and the Economist Financial Intelligence Unit.
