The head of the Arab Tourism Organization, Dr. Bandar bin Fahd Al Fahid, revealed that the value of tourism investments in the Arab world will reach 323 billion dollars by the end of 2020.

He pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage, will host the meetings of the Executive Office and the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism in its 22nd session in Al-Ahsa, “the capital of Arab tourism” for 2019, during the period from 21 to 23 of this month.

Al-Fahid said that the report on the analysis of the competitiveness of tourism and travel for Arab countries, prepared by the organization at the end of 2018, shows Arab countries achieving positive results in the numbers of incoming tourism, reaching 92 million tourists.

He stressed that "tourism is a major industry and an important economic resource as a result of its huge economic return on the budgets of countries; as it has made positive contributions in most of the sectors associated with it, reaching rates of 10 percent of global GDP, and on this level it is expected that more than 225 million tourists will visit the Arab region by 2030.
