Ibrahim El-Araby Picked for FEDCOC Presidency

The President of the Chamber of Commerce in Cairo, Eng. Ibrahim Al-Araby, won the position of President of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce for the period 2019/2023 during the elections held within the election procedures of the members of the Bureau of the federation. Eng. Ibrahim El Araby received 21 votes out of 35 votes of the members of the BOD, while his competing Ahmed El Wakil, Chairman of Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, received 14 votes.

The elections resulted in the victory of Mohamed al-Masri as the first vice president of the Union, who received 19 votes against 16 votes for the President of El Behira Chamber of Commerce Fathi Morsi. President of the Giza Chamber Adel Nasser won the post of second vice president of the Union with 23 votes against 12 votes for the head of Kafr El Sheikh Chamber, Hatem Abdel Ghaffar. The head of the Beni Suef Chamber Hassan Jaafar won the post of Secretary General of the Union with 18 votes against 17 votes for the President of the El-Sharqiyah Chamber, Osama Sultan.

The elections also resulted in the victory of the President of the Chamber of Qaliubiya, Dr. Mohamed Attia Fayoumi as Union Treasurer with 18 votes against 17 votes for Hatem Mustafa Zaki, and the President of the Chamber of Aswan Mohammed Abu al-Qasim as Assistant Treasurer by acclamation.
