Assets of Qatar Central Bank Escalates by 1.4 percent

Qatar Central Bank's assets increased by 1.4 percent on a monthly basis in June 2019, reaching its highest level since October 2015.

The International reserves and foreign currency liquidity rose to 194.6 billion riyals ($54.45 billion) last month, according to data released by Qatar Central Bank.

Qatar has taken many measures aimed at improving its economic performance, boosting the various productive sectors and attracting foreign investments. Qatar has supported industrial and agricultural projects, passed laws to revive investments and enhanced openness to markets.

Reserves were 191.9 billion riyals ($53.7 billion) in May. On a year-on-year basis, Qatar's reserves rose by 18.2 percent, compared to 164.6 billion riyals ($46 billion) in June 2018.

Reserves grew for the 16th month in a row since it started to rise in February 2018. The Qatari central bank's gold reserves stood at 6.44 billion riyals ($1.8 billion), while investments in foreign bonds and bonds stood at 76.4 billion riyals ($21.4 billion).
