The Director General of Jordan Tourism Board, Abed Al Razzaq Arabiyat, predicted that the number of tourists coming to the Kingdom will increase by 10% in 2019 with the opening of new charter flights supported with the board. He added: "the increase in the number of Ryanair and EasyJet flights coming to the Kingdom have increased and will increase the number of overnight tourists significantly and we expect to exceed five million tourists."

He pointed out that "the board supported the attraction of airlines coming from Russia to the coastal Aqaba by providing incentives to make them four companies."

The number of tourists to Jordan rose by 7 percent to 4.9 million in 2018, and according to Arabiyat, this number is expected to increase between 20 and 25 percent this year, especially as the number of tourists from America and Europe is likely to rise.

He also said: "Our target is the high-spending tourist and we have succeeded in attracting tourists to hold their weddings in the Dead Sea region," adding that “the promotion plans for religious tourism this year focus on three traditional markets: Brazil, Japan and China in addition to the continued call on Social Media influencers to visit Jordan and market its archaeological sites."
