The World Bank disclosed Kuwait's GDP growth, rising by 1.6 percent in 2018 after recording a contraction of 3.5 percent in 2017.

This came in a statement by Issam Abu Sulaiman, the Regional Director of GCC at World Bank Group, on the sidelines of the discussion of the Bank's semi-annual report on GCC economies organized by the Arab Planning Institute.

"This growth recovery was addressed by the Bank's report entitled (Human Capital and Economic Growth in the GCC)," said Abu Sulaiman. He added "the report addressed the reasons for the recovery in Kuwait which was supported by high oil prices and increased employment in the public sector."
