According to a report issued by the International Finance Institute, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will remain the main regional destination for the foreign direct investment inflows in 2019, supported by the political stability, and the encouraging business environment and a relatively diversified economy.

Based on the institute's statistics, the UAE has attracted $10.4 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI), accounting for 20 percent of the total flows in the MENA Region and Pakistan. The improvement of capital inflows to the country are expected to support its external reserves.

The institute said that the foreign public assets (and sovereign wealth funds) are expected to peak at $900 million by 2020, as these assets are expected to be invested in diversified portfolios. The Institute also predicted that the GDP growth would remain at 3% in 2019 and 2020, along with the growth of the public sector supported by the stimulus package.
