Surplus of Qatar Trade of Balance

The Qatari trade balance surplus (the difference between the value of exports and imports) increased by 39.9% year-on-year in 2018 compared to the previous year.

According to the Qatari Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics, the trade surplus stood at 191.43 billion Riyals ($52.59 billion), compared with 136.82 billion Riyals in 2017.

The value of exports and re-exports of Qatar increased by 24.9% to QAR 306.81 billion, compared to QAR 245.69 billion in 2017. While the value of imports increased by 6% in 2018 to 115.374 billion Riyals, compared with 108.8 billion Riyals in the previous year.

The figures if Qatar's Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) showed in January that the non-oil exports last year achieved a 35.1 percent growth, with a total value of about 24.4 billion Riyals (about $6.7 billion) compared to 18.05 billion Riyals in 2017.
