Qatar Trade Balance Surplus

The Qatari commodity trade surplus in October reached 19 billion riyals, an increase of 129% compared to the same month last year, a growth of 23% compared to September of this year, according to data from the Qatar Planning and Statistics Authority.
The growth in the trade surplus led to an increase in the value of exports to QAR 28.8 billion, by 37 percent on a year-on-year basis, and by 7.3 percent on a monthly basis. The value of goods imports declined by 23 percent to QAR 9.8 billion compared to October last year, and by 13.8 percent compared to September 2018.
The surplus of the country's commodity trade balance at the end of October reached about 160 billion riyals, supported by the increase in the value of exports to 257 billion riyals and the decrease in the import bill to 96 billion riyals.
