Khaled Hanafi: Towards Establishing a Strategic Economic Alliance between Arab Countries & Italy

Dr. Khaled Hanafi, the Secretary General of the Union of Arab Chambers delivered a speech on behalf of Mr. Mohamad Abdo Saeed, president of the union at the opening of the second Arab-Italian Business Forum in Rome, Italy, where the UAE was the guest of honor of the current session of the Forum, attended by a number of Arab countries, in addition to the presence of a number of officials, businessmen and investment companies from Italy and the Arab countries, led by Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, the UAE Minister of Economy, Michele Geraci, the Undersecretary of the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, Ambassador Hassan Abuyoub, Dean of Arab Ambassadors, and Chizari Trevisi, President of the Joint Arab-Italian Chamber of Commerce.
Hanafi stressed the need to establish a partnership and a strategic alliance and productive investment relations based on strengthening the pillars of the economy between the Arab countries and Italy, and take advantage of the differential balance that is rich in both the Arab and Italian.
Dr. Hanafi affirmed "the importance of cooperation between the Arab & the Italian private sector through the SME-based business model, the use of tools for the digital economy, and the participatory economy adopted by the Union of Arab Chambers".
Dr. Hanafi praised the role played by the joint Arab-Italian Chamber, which is one of the joint Arab chambers working under the umbrella of the Union of Arab Chambers in maximizing economic relations between the Arab countries and Italy and providing investment and trade opportunities on both sides.
He called for strengthening cooperation in the fields of scientific research, human resources, science and technology, industry, agriculture, food security, banking and finance, renewable energy, oil and gas, tourism and communications, and education for the economic development of both sides.
