Jordan's GDP growth estimated at 2.1 percent in Q2, 2018

Jordan's Department of Statistics reported GDP growth at 2.1 percent in the second quarter of the year, higher from the same period of the previous year at 1.9 percent.
According to the Department of Statistics, most sectors achieved growth during the second quarter of 2018. Social and Personal services recorded the highest growth rate at 4% during this period, followed by transport, storage, and communications which grew by 3.3%. Finance, insurance, and real estate grew by 3.2 percent, followed by electricity and water, which recorded a growth rate of 2.1 percent and the transformative industries sector, which grew by 2.0 percent.
Notwithstanding, International Monetary Fund expects Jordan’s GDP to grow by 2.5 percent by the end of 2018.
