Governor of Central Bank of Lebanon: “Monetary Stability will Persist”

Riad Salamé, Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon (CBL) denied rumors about him resigning from his post. "I have not even thought of resigning from my post. These rumors are targeting Lebanon and its economic situation," he said.
"The Monetary situation will remain stable and this is a fact." He added, "The Central Bank of Lebanon is capable of controlling the Market," pointing out "the policy of the Central Bank of Lebanon is drawn up by its central council and I express the Bank's policies based on its decisions.”
He further explained, "All of the entities are supporting the Central Bank of Lebanon and working in one direction, and everyone is doing their duty to maintain stability and the proof of that is the Market stability despite rumors." He raised the remark "the best for Lebanon and for its benefit is to have a Government that gives a vision and launches a package of reforms."
