EU Lifts Sanctions on Central Bank of Iraq

The Central Bank of Iraq announced in a statement, his declassification from the list of EU sanctions imposed by the Union since the era of the former regime, on Institutions prohibiting to deal with a group of Iraqi financial and non-financial institutions, including the Central Bank of Iraq.
According to the statement of the European Union High Commission, this step is a culmination of the significant progress made by the Central Bank of Iraq in improving its performance and the application of international regulations and standards in this area.
According to the statement of the Commission, and under the recent amendments approved by the Central Bank of Iraq, International financial banking institutions will be allowed to deal with the new instructions, as the Central Bank of Iraq has become a reliable Financial Institution to deal with European International Institutions.
