Returns on Kuwaiti Sovereign Fund in 2018 is 3%

The return on Kuwait's investments abroad witnessed a clear decline during the first quarter of this year as compared to the fourth quarter of 2017. Net investment income reached $4.4 billion, with a quarterly decline at 14% or $700 million less than the investment income achieved in the fourth quarter of last year standing at $5.1 billion, according to the balance of payments in the first quarter of this year.
The assets’ value in Kuwaiti Sovereign Fund represent most of the Kuwaiti investments abroad, which return is recorded in the balance of payments and reached 580 billion dollars, according to a Fitch report in May.
Net annual investment income reached $17.6 billion, with a return on Kuwaiti investments abroad, mostly for the Kuwaiti Sovereign Fund at 3%, a 19% decrease compared to the return on sovereign fund investments, which reached 3.7% last year.
