Egypt Approves Economic Plan for Sustainable Development

The Minister of Planning, Follow-up & Administrative Reform of Egypt, Hala Al-Saeed, said that "the medium-term sustainable development plan 2018-2022 includes several positive goals that help Egypt to achieve comprehensive and real economic development."
She also stressed that "the objectives of the plans that were put, whether short or medium term, are within the framework of achieving the goals of sustainable development represented in the vision of Egypt 2030," noting that "the framework of the plan aims to achieve high growth rate of real GDP starting 5.8 % In the first year of the plan and reaching 8 % by the end of the plan.”
Mrs. Al-Saeed added: "The plan aims at increasing per capita real GDP by more than 3 % in the first year of the plan to 6 % in the last year, in addition to creating about 750,000 job opportunities in the first year, through developing the absorptive capacity of the market work, to gradually increase to find 870 thousand opportunities in 2021 - 2022.
