World Entrepreneurs Investment Forum 2017

Held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, the World Entrepreneurs Investment Forum was convened in Bahrain from Oct 31 to Nov 2 2017, highlighting the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It mainly seek to leverage entrepreneurship and creative thinking to strengthen sustainable development around the world.
Organized by UNIDO in partnership with the Government of Bahrain, the Forum reunited more than 1,000 business leaders, government officials and academics; as well as financial institutions to build and foster partnerships and share best practices in entrepreneurship and innovation.
The three days Forum included a number of key events on the Maritime-Continental Silk Road; investing for global impact; women in industry; private sector engagement for implementing SDGs; promoting inclusive investment in Africa; and forging partnerships between entrepreneurs.
The focus was mainly on the role of female entrepreneurs, partnerships for development, and the implications for achieving the 2030 Agenda, in particular SDG on industry, innovation and infrastructure.
The Forum also featured a side event on SDGs in Bahrain, which was organized jointly by UNIDO ITPO-Bahrain, UNDP and the UN Global Compact; and the inauguration of the Bahrain Entrepreneurs Exhibition.
