23rd Arab-German Business Forum

The Arab-German economic relations were described during the past years by important developments and growth in the field of investment and trade, where the value of trade exchange between the two sides reached 44.3 billion euros in 2019, including 12.9 billion euros the share of Arab exports to Germany, and an increase of 3.3 % for the year 2018. The Arab investments in Germany have also expanded significantly in recent years in many large and medium German companies to reach about 100 billion euros, and Germany has provided its scientific expertise to many strategic projects in the Arab countries, including the implementation of many infrastructure, environmental and energy projects, in addition to the high quality of German products and services, which constitute a solid foundation for sustainable economic relations.

The German economy is the largest economy in Europe, and produces more than a fifth of the European Union's gross domestic product, and is heavily dependent on international trade, as German exports to the world during the year 2019 amounted to 1,327 billion euros. Given its strategic location in the heart of Europe, stable economic growth, very advanced infrastructure, a high level of efficiency in its labor market and a favorable economic climate, Germany is a major gateway to enter the European market, which today includes more than 500 million consumers. The strength of the German economy is not limited to this only, but the various and advanced German industries are considered a world leader at all levels, and German companies in turn provide high-level expertise, advanced technology and high-quality production.

In continuation of the role of the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the promotion and development of the Arab-German economic relations, and its endeavor to create appropriate conditions for the development of these relations through the main activities and events that it organizes, the most important of which is the "Arab-German Business Forum" which is organized annually and is considered the main platform for Arab and German businessmen meetings. The Chamber organizes, during the period 26-28 October 2020, the "23rd Arab-German Business Forum" at the "Ritz-Carlton" hotel in Berlin, in cooperation with the Union of Arab Chambers and the Federation of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce.

The event is held under the patronage of the German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, H.E. Peter Altmaier, who will deliver a speech at the opening session of the forum.

More than 600 decision-makers, businessmen and experts from the Arab world and Germany are expected to participate in the forum's activities to discuss strengthening and expanding the Arab-German economic relations. The forum provides the appropriate framework for establishing a network of communication between businessmen from both sides, and preparing for successful cooperation relations between Arab and German businessmen.

The forum sessions will discuss the latest developments on Arab-German economic relations, and many topics of interest. Several specialized meetings will be held, managed by experts in small groups, and an opportunity will be provided to exchange experiences and discuss the possibilities of innovation in various fields.
